Welcome to Billerica Softball where we seek to provide girls opportunities to have fun, learn the game and promote the ideals of good sportsmanship, loyalty and responsibility. Billerica Softball has opportunities for girls from kindergarten through high school to play in leagues in the Spring, Summer and Fall as well as on tournament teams.
Spring Softball Traditionally our largest recreation league, most girls begin by playing spring softball which runs from late April to mid-June. The U8 Instructional level is operated as a clinic that starts with teeball and moves to coach pitch with half practice of needed skills and half games. Umpired games begin at the U10 level. In order to promote and grow the sport of girls fastpitch softball at a recreational and competitively balanced level, in 2016, Billerica and Tewksbury Girls’ Softball Leagues began to play inter-league games at the 10U, 12U and 14U Divisions. The collaboration was a success and in 2017, with assistance from the Greater Lowell Umpires Association, teams from other towns were added and The Merrimack Valley Girls Softball League was established. The majority of games are played at home in Billerica but each season girls might travel to another geographically touching town (Tewksbury, Wilmington, etc) for 3 to 4 games.
U8 – Instructional league for Kindergarten, First Grade and new Second graders U10- 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade U12 – 5th and 6th grade U14 – 7th and 8th grade U18 – 9th to 12th grade (when possible)
Summer Softball U10, U12, U14, U18 Girls can register to play on Billerica Teams in the MiddleEssex Summer Softball League which runs from late June to early August. Once registration closes, teams are compiled and entered into the league. Games are Monday to Thursday, twice a week, typically one home and one away.
Fall Softball U10, U12, U14 U18 Girls can register to play on Billerica Teams in the Billerica Fall Ball League which runs from early September to mid October. Once registration closes, inidividually registered girls are placed onto a team and entered into the league. There are over 50 teams in this league. Each team plays 2 games on Saturdays for 6 weeks with time limits of 1.5 hours per game. Registration options include by team or per person. The organization supplied all umpires, balls and inidivudal registrations get a teeshirt. All ASA rules. NOTE: Registration is CLOSED
What league is right for my daughter? For Spring Softball we place girls into leagues by school grade regardless of age to allow them to play with their friends. In summer and fall, girls are placed by their softball age: ASA rules are that the player's age on December 31 indicates what league they are eligible for for the following year.

About Billerica Softball We are an organization set up to provide a safe learning environment for local girls who want to play softball. Our goal is to foster a structured learning atmosphere combined with a "love for the game" attitude. Our coaches and assistants are dedicated men and women whose love for the sport keeps bringing them back to share their skills and teamwork ethic with each player on their teams.
Is your daughter new to the sport? Is she intrigued by the game and interested to see if softball is her sport? GREAT! We specialize in fostering sportsmanship, teamwork and fundamentals of softball. Your daughter will begin her softball experience in the hands of caring adults who want to give each player a chance to grow and thrive with supervision. Our coaching staff is knowledgeable and will ensure a positive playing experience not only for new players but for their returning players as well. Is your daughter a returning player? Is she a player wanting to try a new field position or expand on her knowledge of a position she played last year? Awesome! We look forward to seeing her at tryouts. Remember every girl who tries out is placed on a team and NO ONE is left out. We value opinion of parents and players. We are dedicated to providing an atmosphere of fun and leaning, the more input we have the better we are able to fulfill our goal.
